You and I know that dancing has been banned in Bangalore in place where alcohol is served. But by the latest report in the media Bangalore had a rain dance organized at the Bowring institute. The bottom line, is if you have contacts and money, you can dance away your blues in anyway. Is India World Champion in Cricket? - 13 November 2008, 1:48 am
It is all over the news and almost on all Indian Cricket lover’s mouth that India’s time in Cricket has arrived. Today we are longer the challengers but the champions. Indeed after winning the Test series against Australia 2 - 0 is a great achievement. We have beaten the best in the world comprehensively. The Aussies as we know are a determined lot. They will go back home a bunch of wounded tigers. And they will be preparing to strike back on the next meeting. So India should be prepared and should not get lost in short glory. If India has arrived then India has to be at this stage for quite sometime to prove it mentle. Scoreboard However, the question is - did India arrived as the new world champions in cricket? To answer the question, to an extent yes. This series has shown a lot of characters by India crickerts which are of winners. This test series is also historical in its own right as two of the greats of this game  - Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble played their last test series and retired. Lifting Dada (Sourav Ganguly) at the end of the 4th test in Nagpur and Captain Dhoni’s gesture of letting formar captain Sourav Ganguly lead the team for the last couple of overs. I hope Dhoni’s gesture is not a PR stunt but I must say Dhoni is very good at PR (Personal Relationship). Dhoni’s golden touch is working like magic. And as of now he has 100% win record in test matches. In a year or 2, the other remaining seniors will too retire and these places has be filled with quality cricketers, if India has to remain a world beater. As the places which are becomming vacant are some of the best in the world. In terms of the test ranking, India is still not the number one. But if they can continue the rythm and self belief, sure they will be the champions. India has indeed arrived if not the champion yet. ShareThis

Runners for Life (RFL), a division of The Fuller Life, is organising the second edition of India’s only Ultra Marathon, on Sunday, 16th Nov 2008 on the outskirts of Bangalore. An Ultra Marathon is a run where the distances covered by the participants are greater than the standard marathon’s 42.2km distance and usually consists of a mix of trail and road running across scenic surroundings. At the Bangalore Ultra, runners can pick distances ranging from 25 km to 100 km provided they manage within the open 12 hours time band for the event. The distances in an Ultra marathon – up to 100km – are truly testing and the event attracts runners to whom the only competition is against oneself. Hence the tagline of the Bangalore Ultra is “It’s Tough. Are you?” 300 odd runners have already signed up for the event and there are more runners signing up everyday. The registrations for the Bangalore Ultra will close on the 10th of November 2008.
