Rev. Wright controversy

I found the comments very interesting..... How different we each see things! Yet is it because of the amount of information we have to base our opinion? Or does it go deeper than that? What kind of people can be manipulated by the media to believe anything? I read many of the comments and found myself in agreement with many...and yet some were very perplexing, to think people came to the conclusions they had...

The "New York Times" would NOT post any of my comments.  Here are two I tried to post, and they were censored OUT - and not posted at (I make note  that you need to copy and paste the webpage to your browser to open and read):

I plan to vote for Obama spite the controversy surrounding this topic. My opinion is both Obama and Rev. Wright are good men, that found themselves (their relationship) torn by circumstances.  I do not think Senator Obama should put down Rev. Wrights OPINIONS (many I agree with);  he has a right to them. Many agree with his views (Christian and non-Christian), more then you think.  But,  I can understand Obama being upset with at least one comment Rev. Wright made, that questioned his honesty. I do not think either of them meant to do harm to one another, and I hope that they both can put Y'shua (Hebrew name for Jesus) FIRST - seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and God will work everything else out.  If John McCain's pastor is the same John Hagee I am thinking of...that man is a NUT.  He wants to bomb Iran, and his doctrine is contrary to most evangelicals'.  He is on the list of FALSE PROPHETS almost every where in the Christian community, and now allegedly hides his outrageous income (from his ministry) from the public.  People like him GAIN from the government giving to the faith based ministries, that don't help the poor in my opinion, but help themselves.  I thought Rev. Wright was this awful person UNTIL recently, and watched PBS Bill Moyer show that confirmed to me that the media had taken things out of context and made him to be someone he was not.  I hope that Obama WILL get some knowledge about the HIV tests (www.aliveandwell.org) that will help him realized that it is not unrealistic that the government (and pharmaceutical companies) do wrong in some cases, and there are probably thousands of people that suspect 9/11 could have been done by our own government.  Even watching the EARLY news clips of 9/11 here in NYC, it was questionable why there was a fire on the first floor (seen on the early news shows) at the beginning when the planes hit the top of the towers UNLESS something happened from the bottom up first.  I am not sure what Obama believes or not - but he seemed to not believe much of what Rev. Wright believes in and that is OK - as long as he (Obama) sticks to the GOOD policies he has.  For example - opinion  with oil;  and today it was shown that Clinton and McCain have a plan that will fail, yet they make fun of Obama for one that seems like it could work.  Obama is the only one I see that has come against the World Bank (to the best of my knowledge) and that is a sure sign of REAL CHANGE, and good for the middle class.  Read "Screwed" by Thom Hartmann and see how much Reagan, Bush Sr./Jr., and Bill Clinton have in COMMON and how the trickle down is what is hurting us and getting rid of the middle class if they can.  Obama is the only one running that I believe will save the MIDDLE CLASS. Hillary is all talk and her husband is the one that sent most of our jobs to China and out of the USA, and Hillary is not going to change that..but I believe Obama will.  It doesn't really matter so much what Rev. Wright thinks - the person running is OBAMA and although I agree with much of what Rev. Wright says...that has to do with my spiritual faith.  He is not running for president, and I know little about what Rev. Wright would do as President - and it doesn't matter..he is not running.  Let's not put too much emphasis on the relationship with Obama and Rev. Wright.  I agree with things both  say and disagree with some also - but the person that is running for President is Obama, and his issues on helping our economy is good in my opinion...and he is the ONLY one of them that voted against this war in Iraq, and I believe will NOT bring us to World War III as war and medical industry sadly enough has become for PROFIT.

I also agree for the person that said that both Obama and Wright can both have their opinions.  Neither should put the other's down - Rev. Wright does not have to keep silent because Senator Obama is running for President.  They both can respect each other, and I only had a problem with ONE comment that Rev. Wright made - and that was to question his honestly - by assuming Senator was not honest with how he felt for his political gain.  And then I disagreed with Obama putting down the opinions of Rev. Wright - most of which I agree with.  I think the awkwardness is brought on by the media and it started with the clips (out of context) of Rev. Wright..that I would not doubt the Clinton's and/or McCain was behind...and too bad that Rev. Wright and Senator Obama allowed it to come between them...as their differences did not until now it seems.  I think this will pass....and I still will VOTE FOR OBAMA based on the issues.. and he is the only one that will bring us CHANGES and HOPE FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS at the same time being fair to everyone - the poor, rich, and those in between.

I see it like Jimmy does (posted on April 28th, #104) - and many others in here.  I vote on issues, not for party - doesn't matter if Democrat or Republican.

There is room for both Rev. Wright's and Senator Obama's opinions.  I respect them both for different reasons, and Obama still has my vote; however, he needs to let Rev. Wright have the floor for JESUS that has nothing to do with Obama.

Yet...Rev. Wright needs to still do his mission for JESUS if that is what it is...and not make comment about Obama either.

As far as VOTING FOR PRESIENT - let's stick to the issues of Obama, Clinton, and McCain.   I see "NO" Wright, or Hagee
(McCain's pastor) running for PRESIDENT !  We may agree with the main message (Salvation for instance) of a pastor, and disagree on other issues - so let's not let the Clinton's and McCain get us OFF TRACK from the issues.

I do hope that Obama will not waste money on HIV testing and drugs with government money - like the CLINTONS want to do. To many sources now say that HIV does NOT cause AIDS - and that verdict in Mass., around December of 2007 that was won - and exposed those hiv tests...should be enough to END government funding for such.  Other than that....I agree with MORE about what Obama is for - than either of the other two running.
