More Voter ID Laws on the Way?
A Supreme Court decision this week upheld an Indiana state law requiring photo ID before voting. Voting experts say the decision is likely to prompt stricter voter ID laws in other states. While Republicans tend to support increased ID requirements as a way to deter voter fraud, Democrats argue that such measures discriminate against poor voters, minorities and the elderly.
