I love me some winter break. I've got a week or two left before school starts back up, but there's lots of stuff moving behind the scenes.
I currently support a ton of different sites (Flingr, Catwack, P2PForums, etc etc) -- I'm also moving to start my own blog on its own independent blogging platform. We'll see how it works out, but I need a place to post my geeky code fixes for the world to see, and to just put down interesting tech advancements. :)
I also intend on pursuing an active role on some open source applications, such as RoundCube Webmail (AJAX IMAP Client). So, I'm excited, lol
Anyway, I'll be updating here a lot more. I promise :D

Hoorah! It's about to start. I just signed up for my Patriot Platoon membership, and I'm super excited.
I love me some basketball, and this time we have really good recruits. 3 All-american's, 1 recruited by VT, Georgia, etc, another recruited by a ton of VA schools (UVA, ODU, etc -- and FLA State). And another which has just all-around good stats.
I'm happy, and they're all tall. Hopefully we can have a good season this year. :D
--Now, time for a midterm :'(

So, anyone ready for school? I know I'm not, even though it's my last year. Too many bills to pay, haha.

Am I the only one working round the clock? I seem to have no time to do anything this summer. Between finally paying off my larger bills [engagement ring say whaaat], I'm working two jobs and working on an outside project.
My two jobs combined I work about 102 hours or so. On top of that when I get home from work I go for a run (sitting in a cube all day isn't good -- 10 mile runs help), and then do more programming on this outside project until about 1AM. So, in the end I'm pulling in a cool 5 hours a night of sleep on average.
Today, I'm exhausted and just want sleep -- but can't cause I have a ton of work to do when I go home. But yeah -- is anyone else working a ton?
I'll be happy come the end of July early August since I'm going to take a couple days off perhaps, and go to Massanutten and relax at a pool. I'm actually looking forward to school at this point (how sad is that?)....lol

So, after a long while -- I finally proposed to Heather. I took her out to Nick's Riverside Grill, where we had a nice steak dinner with a view of a giant fountain in the middle of this riverside complex (of course the Maitre'd was aware of what was going to happen later in the evening). We ate, and I paid the bill. The Maitre'd (manager) gave us a nice goodbye and said how nice we looked. We then headed off to the Kennedy Center to watch The Phantom of the Opera. I chose this broadway musical/opera because of how much Heather had talked it up and said she loved it. I'd never seen it before, making it something to remember.
Anyway, before they started seating everyone, we went to the upper level of the Kennedy Center, where Heather had a cheesecake at the KC Cafe. We then went to the Upper Terrace which is at the top level, and took a walk around the building (which overlook's DC and the Potomac River). That's where we were suppose to be followed by Heather's parents in secret (which we found out they were at wrong terrarce, when in reality we both had different terrarce's in mind -- since there are an upper and a lower terrace, and the upper is what I was thinking of). So, I got down on bended knee and proposed overlooking the Potomac River (she said 'yes'). I then had her call her father (whom was right below us on the other terrace), and they came up and we took some pictures. The fallback plan was that if I didn't see her parents, her dad would call me and act as her brother David in need of computer repair help. However, he had the wrong phone number listed, and Heather was getting wary of walking around in her heels (they are cute, but hurt a lot to wear). Therefore, I proposed without them around. After the pictures on the terrace, we realized that the Heather's family had followed us to and from dinner, etc and had been taking lots of pictures.
From there, we took our seats in the opera house and watched Phantom (which had amazing special fx). Overall, we had a great time. :D

Heather and I kicked around the soccer ball a bit on sunday, and I'm still sore. I went for an 8 mile run prior, but my leg muscles are tired in places that I didn't even realized I used. I want to go for a run tonight, but my sore legs are really hampering that. I may just put on some icey hot, do a few stretches, and go. I just am so sick of sitting around on computers all day.
Anyway, I'm done ranting now :)

Well, firstly I would like to wish everyone a happy July 4th. Secondly, I'm using a new pimp keyboard at work. I'm still getting use to it, but it's great
It's the MS Natural Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard -- and for the cheap price of $15 on amazon, it's totally worth it. I've been having issues with coding after work since the keyboards I use are typically assisting in my carpal tunnel :/
Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to finally accomplish more work now that this keyboard is helping to keep me pain free :D
Also -- new htmlpurifier and WYSIWYG updates will be installed tonight :)

Alrighty, I've uploaded a ton of (invisible) changes to CatWack.
Pages and linked images are now cache'd for faster load times. Also, the voting will disable itself if the site gets hit hard with requests so that we can save DB connections. Overall, it's rather efficient.
I'll be carrying this over to Flingr for faster page load times as wel :)
